I’m so glad I’ve found this society, I’m currently launching a small wood-fired mobile sauna hire business in South Wales and I’m struggling to find suitable insurance for this type of operation, so I’d really appreciate any guidance or broker recommendations from people with experience in this space.
Business overview:

Trailer-mounted wood-fired sauna (749kg
, 2–4 person capacity)

Self-hire model (customers collect, tow, set up, and return the trailer)

Private use only (homes, campsites, holiday lets – no public events or sub-hire)

Age 25+ drivers, full handover process and written hire agreement in place

From what I understand, this may fall under trailer-based leisure hire / self-drive hire equipment, but I may be missing the correct insurance classification or specific market that covers this kind of setup.
So far, several insurers have declined cover, mainly due to the self-hire / customer-towed operating model.
If anyone here has experience with mobile sauna businesses, trailer-based hire equipment, or knows brokers/insurers who understand this type of risk, I would be very grateful for any recommendations.
